Victoria, BC | We are looking for someone serious about bread, and enjoys working with a great team crafting loaves for our fine city.
Applicant should have a good understanding of all aspects of artisanal bread production and handling.
We mill our own flour, use wild yeast for most of our breads and bake using both a wood fired brick oven and an electric deck oven, baking classically inspired breads in a beautiful, hot, dusty bakery with lots of natural light.
Successful applicants should also have good experience and ability to work with, and manage a group, creating a positive atmosphere, consistency in production, elevating quality standards, effective trouble shooting, as well as coordinating with other managers and departments in the company.
We have some well set up systems for production and communication and are always seeking ways to improve and grow.
We have a great working team of bakers, I still work closely with the group helping with trouble shooting and general management but a lead point person to facilitate daily production needs with the group.
We would like to have someone in place by early September for a smooth transition as our previous manager will be leaving later that month.
