Ferry Luck | travel, phenomenon | A local term that underscores the element of chance involved when catching a ferry to or from Vancouver Island, the Mainland or any of the Gulf Islands without a reservation. If you have good ferry luck you’ll be one of the last cars on the boat, and if you have bad ferry luck…well…you get the idea. Some have it. Others don’t.

Usage: “I know it’s Friday afternoon on a long weekend and I don’t have a reservation but I’m crossing my fingers and trusting in ferry luck…”
